22 Years Ago. . . .
Twenty two years ago, Chris and I had our first date!
It was the beginning of an incredible adventure. We went to Red Lobster, where Chris was working at the time, and had steak and lobster! What a way to start of a relationship. I think that the reason that we went there is because Chris thought it would be 1/2 price -- but then he realized that it was only when he was working that it was 1/2 price. But his buddy brought us a free dessert and coffee.
We were married 4 1/2 years later and moved to Texas to attend SWBTS. There we learned many things, got a dog (good preparation for being parents), worked hard, studied, owned a business, and made many friends.
In 1995, we started a new chapter in our lives in Las Vegas!!!! There we lived for 7 years and our first son was born there -- strange that he still thinks of Las Vegas as "home." Working in living in Las Vegas was definitely interesting and we were blessed with many friendships there.
In 2003, our great adventure brought us to the town of Ivanovo, Russia -- 4 1/2 hours north of Moscow. Here we live and serve in a town of 450,000 people. We have learned a new language and culture. You will notice that there are only 5 roses - even number of roses are only given at funerals . . . Who knew??? We have many dear friends and love our life here in Russia.
Tomorrow begins a new chapter in our lives and we bring Andrew and Natasha into our home. Our court time is at 9:30 in the morning and we will know the outcome very soon afterwards. Thanks for your prayers and and love.

I'll be glad to remove your adoption from my prayer list!! I'll not do so, however, until tomorrow morning! BTY, my first date with Nancy was 2 for 1 at Cousins in FTW followed by a $1 movie, Princess Bride. She can't say she didn't come into this relationship with her eyes open!
We are also praying for you. Be nice if we get a visit when you're here since you'll probably be in the area for Chris's family. :) We can't wait to hear! I'm sure we could tell you the story of our first 'date' sometime too but it's too long to write here. :)
