Sparrows
It was a beautiful sunny day here in Podgorica. As I was studying language this morning, I notices lots of little birds flying around in the back yard. One even landed on our balcony. (Yes, I was gazing out the window during my language lesson.) After a meeting this afternoon, I went for a walk to find a picture for my 365 Project and came across these sparrows across the street.
I noticed that when I uploaded them to the computer that there is nothing real special about this bird -- it is not pretty, sort of just blends in, no special markings and there are hundreds of them! Chris reminded me of the verse in the Bible that I printed on the picture. Sparrows were often purchased by poor families for offerings at the temple, because they could not afford anything more. There are actually 5 verses that talk about sparrows in the New Testament. Here is another one of my favorites:
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered.
Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Luke 12:7
