Ohrid, Macedonia

This is the 13th century Church of St. John overlooking the Lake Ohrid. The day was a bit hazy, but the mountains in the background are Albania.

Christian standing in front of a 1000 year old tree. There used to be a coffee bar in the trunk of the tree, but it has now been closed off.

Christian and I at the fortress over looking Ohrid. Samuil ruled here during the middle ages. Recent work in restoring the fortress showed signs of an earlier fortress dating back to the 4th century when PhillipII ruled in Macedonia.
