Camp

Last week we were at a camp with our church down by the coast.  It was near Bar and the town was called Dobro Vode.  We were at a small hotel and there were 33 to 37 people there.  Chris and I were the cooks.  It was interesting because all of the cooking had to be done on top of the stove. The ovens were not very good and the electricity was weak.

We introduced the Montenegrins to pancakes and tacos.  They loved them!  Chris made tacos four mornings in a row.  The tacos and home made tortillas were gone in a flash.  They loved the salsa -- the spicy salsa was gone first.  The Americans were introduced to "priganitsi", a traditional Montenegrin food.  It is a fried bread (sort of like a donut without a hole in the middle)  on which you put feta cheese, jam, honey, nutella or left over salsa and taco meat.

The camp was an opporturnity for the Christians of Montenegro to learn about evangelism.  A team from McArthur Blvd. Baptist Church in TX came to lead the camp.  They presented Two Ways to Live  and led us in conducting "market research" on the beach.  The Two Ways to Live is a story about a king and his people.  Very interesting approach here in Montenegro because there is a long history of kings here.

Christian enjoyed the camp and got to room with Bryant -- the music director from MBBC.  He may never be the same -- it is amazing how many of Bryant's mannerisms he picked up on.  But, that is ok with me! Bryant, thanks for loving on our son, encouraging him, letting him play the guitar while you guys practiced . . . and the list goes on.

Thanks Rob, Josh, Tim, Darren, Mindy, Ricky, Megan and Bryant for coming!  It was a great pleasure to get to know all of you!  Thanks for lugging the home school material over for Christian.  Thanks for the encouragement that you gave us.  May the Lord continue to bless your lives and ministry opportunities as you share the story of the King.

Actually the tacos were for dinner and a casserole 2 nights later. I really wanted to do breakfast burritos, but did not want to make more tortillas!

Was that really Josh I saw doing manual labor?? :D

I have heard sooo many good things about the camp both during the trip and afterwards. I wish I had been there! You guys were a great help to our team the past two trips, so thank you and may the Lord richly reward you for you efforts!

YES, that was Josh doing manual labor! He also is a dishwasher and dryer or whatever he needed to be!
