Bridge Diving in Montenegro

Apparently, this is a sport that folks travel all over the world to participate -- sort of like cliff diving.

Last week we went to the local "jump off the bridge competition" in Podgorica. This was the third or fourth annual competition. Three professional divers actually jumped from the top of the bridge and the other jumped from a platform that was part of the old bridge.

Most of the men did a swan dive and some of them did a jack knife.

There were lots of folks on the banks of the river watching the event.

This was one of the professional divers that began his dive from the hand stand position off the top of the bridge.

It was definitely a unique experience and we will try to catch it again next year! Don't think that we will join them, but we will definitely watch them.
