Homework
Homeschooling has its challenges -- homework being one of them. Since I (Jill) work with Christian for most of the day, I really need a break when it comes to getting all the homework done. Chris has agreed to be homework monitor. (After speaking with his Mom today, I am not so sure this was a wise idea -- Chris hated homework too.)
Last night I had a night off -- Chris cooked dinner, did the dishes and the homework with Christian. I took a long luxurious bath and read a book. At 8:00 pm, I went back to Chris' study and found them googling Russia on the Google Earth site. Needless to say, they were having lots of fun, but all the homework did not get done!!!!!
Today, I asked Christian where his history homework was, and his answer was, "I did it in my head," -- knowing full well that it is to be written out. Not only was this day's homework in his head, but the previous 4 days were too.
As Chris was lecturing him on home work -- I heard him say, "You know, Mom is mad at ME -- because YOU did not do your homework!" Well Mom is over it now and glad that Christian did learn what an ithsmus was -- that's how they got side tracked with Google Earth. So if you don't know what an ithsmus is, give Christian a call -- he can describe it and spell it!!! (The jury is still out on whether he can reduce fractions or not).
